If you're anything like me you don't have emough time to follow all of the systems that you want to. I'm very lucky in that I get to see almost every racing system marketed but the time taken to test them out is time taken away from my own betting activities.
That's why I'm big into automating as much of my betting as I can. I use a lot of simple systems that are based on market position and other factors that can be taken from Betfair. I combine these systems with cautious staking plans.
Systems like this can be easily automated using the Gruss Betting Assistant software (search for it on Google). This software lets the user conect it up to an Excel spreadsheet where you can use macros to automate your betting.
I have built a number of these tools which I just spend 5 minutes setting up each morning and they go off and make me a profit, while I work on other things.
Using this combination of tools is also a great way to do research. For example if you want to know the price of every horse on Betfair just before the off you can create a tool that does this. Or if you want to record the price movements of every horse in play and of course you can do similar things for every other market that you are interested in.
If programming macros and Visual Basic is too much to learn you can use the tools that we have built at the Betting School.
